The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Economics, Banking and Finance is organised into a single curriculum.
The study programme develops progressively over the three years:
- The first year provides the theoretical foundations and the basic methodological and analytical tools.
- The second and third years strengthen students’ analytical and quantitative skills through solid training in economics and statistics.
- The third year, in particular, provides further opportunities to explore financial topics from both theoretical and empirical-analytical perspectives.
The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Economics, Banking and Finance has open admission. Applicants must hold an upper secondary school diploma awarded in accordance with current legislation, or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable for admission.
Students’ initial preparation is assessed through a TOLC-CISIA test or an equivalent test. The relevant TOLC type, the subject areas assessed and the applicable minimum scores are specified on the dedicated page of the University website.
Students who do not successfully pass the initial assessment are assigned Additional Learning Requirements (Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi – OFA), which must be fulfilled during the first year of the Programme in accordance with the established procedures. Students who fail to fulfil the OFA requirements are required to repeat the first year.
For the purpose of fulfilling the OFA requirements, without prejudice to the overall assessment carried out by the relevant lecturer, students must demonstrate that they have acquired at least the knowledge relating to the following topics covered in the General Mathematics course:
- solving equations and inequalities;
- elements of analytic geometry.
The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Economics, Banking and Finance offers an interdisciplinary educational pathway in economics, banking and finance, integrating economic and quantitative knowledge with analytical tools.
In particular, the Programme aims to provide students with:

Overall, the Programme aims to provide graduates with a comprehensive education in economics, finance and statistics.
Upon completion of the Programme, graduates in Economics, Banking and Finance acquire knowledge and understanding across the main disciplinary areas covered by the Programme.
In particular, graduates:

The Programme also develops independent judgement, enabling graduates to critically analyse economic and financial phenomena, identify and appropriately use statistical sources, and integrate economic knowledge with contributions from the other disciplines covered by the Programme.
With regard to communication skills, graduates develop the ability to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions effectively in both written and oral form, to use the terminology of economics, finance and quantitative disciplines appropriately, and to communicate in English on topics related to the Programme.
Finally, the Programme develops the learning skills required for the independent study of economics and finance from both theoretical and empirical-quantitative perspectives, while also providing an appropriate foundation for further study at second-cycle degree level.
